Micro-Needling also known as Collagen Induction Therapy, is an innovative skin rejuvenation treatment that will improve the overall appearance of the skin with minimal ‘down-time.’ The micro-needling process involves the creation of microscopic channels through the surface of the skin, which leads to formation of new tissue and releases the skin’s natural growth factors. By creating minor skin injury during the procedure, the skin’s natural healing process initiates the production of new collagen and elastin fibers that thicken the skin and reduce the appearance of wrinkles, acne scarring, sun damage, and stretch marks
HOW ARE MICRO-NEEDLING PROCEDURES PERFORMED?
Micro-Needling uses a hand-held pen device studded with up to 12 micro-needles that range between 0.5mm to 2.5mm in length.
The procedure begins with the application of topical gel to the targeted area of the skin. The pen is then gently pressed against the skin in a single motion, creating tiny punctures (pin pricks) on the top layers of the skin. This process is repeated until the entire treatment area is covered.
For optimal results, a series of 3 treatments is recommended.
